Join us for our school-year enrichment workshops! Through our fun themes, students will write a variety of pieces, including stories, poetry, and other creative forms. Students begin each project immersed in reading and art experiences to inspire and spark unique ideas. Each piece is taken through the writing process as students are guided to brainstorm, draft, revise, edit, publish, and share their work. At the end of the each workshop, students will have completed several short pieces and one main project that reflects the theme and the skills taught in the workshop.
From these workshops, parents and students can expect:
- small-group and 1-1 guidance in the completion of a variety of writing and art projects
- a focus on organization and elaboration of ideas
- reading for meaning from theme-related texts
- vocabulary development
- authentic grammar and mechanics instruction through the editing process
- individualized instruction through the revision process
- support from a true writers' community
- a low-stress environment that facilitates creative thinking and confidence
